  • In 2007-2008, nearly 10,000 parents, mentors, and community members participated in volunteering at NEISD schools.
  • These volunteers logged over 271,000 hours working with our students.
  • Each year, the Independent Sector Organization calculates the national average for the value of volunteerism. For 2007, this figure was $19.51 per hour. This means, the value of volunteerism at NEISD was over $5.3 million.
  • The district's top volunteer for 2007-2008 volunteered 1,805 hours.
  • Since 1994, more than 110,000 people have registered to volunteer in our district. 
  • In 2007-2008, the district had approximately 1,400 business and community organizations partnerships with our campuses.
