SUNDAY ACTIVITIES

Extracurricular activities that come under the auspices of the UIL are prohibited from being conducted on Sunday, and this prohibition extends to practice sessions as well. The District discou-ages schools holding extracurricular activities or practice sessions on Sunday.

EXCEPTION

If an activity must be conducted on a Sunday, it must be approved by the principal of the school prior to being scheduled. The principal shall inform the office of the associate superintendent of the activity and the rationale for approving it.

HALL OF FAME

The selection committee for the Hall of Fame shall be as follows:

1. The Superintendent.

2. The principal of each District high school.

3. The head football coach of each District high school.

4. The director of athletics.

5. Their respective representatives.

For an individual or team to be placed in the Hall of Fame, more than 2/3 or the committee must so vote. Each committee mem-ber shall have one vote. Only UIL-sponsored activities shall be considered.

The criteria for nomination and selection to the Hall of Fame shall be based on the following:

1. First place individual winner in the state finals of the UIL pro- gram in the following sports: tennis, golf, track and field, swim- ming, diving and cross country.

2. District student athletes who participate in a Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and softball.

3. Selected for a major news media's All-State First Team (UPI and AP), or a Texas State Coaches Association All-State First Team in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, and softball.

An individual may be selected for outstanding ability and achievement in the field of athletics and other areas after graduation if related to District athletic teams.

4. Each District championship team advancing to the state play- offs shall have their picture placed in the Hall of Fame.

District runner-ups or multi-championship teams must advance at least one step in state playoffs to be considered for Hall of Fame.

5. Individual baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and softball players who are selected on an All-State Tournament will have individual insert pictures along with the team or squad pictures, provided they are a regional champion and a representative to the state tournament.

6. An individual receiving All-American honors in college will be installed in the Hall of Fame. These pictures may be relocated after a period of time upon recommendation of the Hall of Fame committee. An athlete who already appears in the Hall of Fame will have the name plate changed to include the honor and will be approved by the athletic director.

Pictures of teams or individuals accepted into the Hall of Fame should be sent to Blossom Athletic Center office. The athletic department will have the pictures framed with the proper name plate attached.

District champions pictures must be titled "District Champions" plus their final placement in playoffs.

7. Any District team championship ties that cannot be broken will be considered for the Hall of Fame.

Size of finished framed pictures is standardized as follows (check for size-any deviation in sizes must be approved by the athletic director):

a. Football - 11" x 14" overall in 1" frame.

b. Basketball, track, all others - 8" x 10" overall in 1" frame.

c. Individual pictures - 5" x 7".
