EXTRACURRICULAR BUS TRAVEL

In the interest of providing safer and better service to all schools during extracurricular travel, all groups shall adhere to the following:

1. All convoys of buses leaving a school to go to an activity and when leaving to return to school after the activity will depart at the same time. A convoy of five or more buses will carry a radio in the lead bus as well as the last bus. A convoy of fewer than five buses will carry a radio in the last bus.

2. The lead bus driver or the transportation dispatcher will determine the route (unless previously determined by the school’s officials in consultation of the transportation depart- ment). All buses will travel the same route and will arrive at the destination at approximately the same time. Any deviation should be cleared in advance. This will necessitate the coordination of all groups who make up the convoy by the principal or assistant principal in charge of the activity.
