SURPLUS PROPERTY |
The following procedures shall be followed for the disposal of district property which has become surplus or is no longer usable: 1. Property which is in usable condition but in excess of campus or department needs shall be transferred to a storage location. The transfer must be requested on the NEISD "Property Transfer or Disposal Form." Completed forms should be forwarded to Purchasing Department personnel who will arrange for the transfer. 2. NEISD "Property Transfer or Disposal Form" must be used to transfer control of property from one Budget Manager to another. 3. Upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board may declare property surplus to District needs and may authorize disposal. The Executive Director of Purchasing shall be responsible for determining the method of disposal. Disposal will be as follows:
4. NEISD "Property Transfer or Disposal Form" must be used to dispose of property which has no tangible value or has been determined uneconomical to repair. The form must be completed by the Budget Manger who has custody over the property and forwarded to the Purchasing Department. The Purchasing Department shall arrange for pick up and disposal of the property.

PROPERTY TRANSFER OF EQUIPMENT |
The Computer Inventory Division shall only transfer computer equipment. It is not the responsibility of the Inventory Division to transfer furniture, small appliances, books, etc.
A property transfer form must be completed and sent to Purchasing before computer equipment is taken to salvage or moved to other District locations.
Equipment that is being sold or sent to auction must have the hard drive(s) erased. |
