GRANTS FROM PRIVATE STATE OR FEDERAL SOURCES |
The following submission procedures are to be used when applying for private, state or federal grants: The grant initiator will review the granting agency's Request for Proposal to ensure that funds available to the District equals $25,000 or more. Proposals for grants totalling less than $25,000 will be considered under the following circumstances: 1. When there are no reporting requirements and funds can be accounted for in the General Fund or Student Activity Fund, or 2. When the Superintendent and Executive Staff determine that the proposed grant is essential for improvement of the District's program(s). Prior to the development of a grant, it is required that a "Preliminary Approval for Grant Submission" form be submitted to the Associate Superintendents. [See CDC (E)] |

TIME AND EFFORT LOG |
Individuals whose salaries are funded out of more than one revenue source must complete the Monthly Time & Effort Log. The Monthly Time & Effort Log shall be signed by the employee completing the log along with the employee's immediate supervisor. Logs shall be submitted monthly to the Federal Programs Accounting Office on or before the 10th day of the following month. Grant Managers shall be responsible for ensuring "split funded" employees are allocating their time correctly between revenue sources. |

EQUIPMENT DONATIONS |
Donations of used copiers or computers by clubs or associations to the District will be evaluated by the Copier Service/Computer Service Center Departments as to their value and/or usefulness to the District. Only equipment of benefit to the District will be accepted. |

USE OF FUNDS |
All bequests of property for the benefit of the public schools shall, when not otherwise directed by the grantor, vest the property in the Board. Funds or other property donated, or the income there from may be expended: 1. For any purpose designated by the donor that is in keeping with the lawful purposes of the schools that are to benefit from the donation; or 2. For any purpose authorized by State Board rule if the donor designated no specific purpose. |

FINANCIAL STATEMENT |
All gifts or bequests shall be included among the total receipts of the District which are reported in the annual financial statement. |
