Penny Clarkson, librarian at Lopez Middle School, has been accepted to the highly competitive Texas Accelerated Library Leaders Institute, more popularly known as TALL Texans. For fifteen years only the best of the rising Texas leaders have been selected for this rigorous but transformational program. The program enables librarians to return to their institutions with a stronger understanding of management, communication, and strategic planning. Graduates of the program have become directors of major library systems, administrators within school districts and universities, Executive Board members for the Texas Library Association, and leaders in critical initiatives within their own communities. Penny Clarkson will proudly represent Lopez Middle School at the seminar to be held in June.
