NEISD sponsors USDA Summer Food Service program

North East ISD will sponsor the USDA Summer Food Service Program at nine schools, providing free breakfasts, lunches and/or snacks to children 18 years of age and younger. Children do not have to sign up for meals and may simply come to the site during the appropriate times. Regulations require that meals must be eaten at the lunch site, and accompanying adults may be asked to show identification.

"As we approach the end of the traditional school year, we are working to assure that free lunches don’t end when the school doors close," said Meg Domas, executive director of School Nutrition Services. "These summer meals will provide the same nutrition that our students receive throughout the year through the National School Lunch Program."
