Redland Oaks students receive appreciation from Ft. Sam Houston
|
Redland Oaks Elementary students in Kelly Campsey's and Maria Mohler's classes received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ft. Sam Houston Warrior and Family Support Center. The certificate read "for your generous contribution to the Fort Sam Houston Warrior and Family Support Center, established in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Your willing assistance demonstrates your concern for our Warriors and their Families and exemplifies the spirit of America." "The children wrote beautiful cards and letters for recovering soldiers who attended a special holiday dinner in their honor," said Dr. Mary Longloy, Redland Oaks principal. "The troops were very touched by the students' heartfelt greetings of gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifice they made for their country." Additionally, Caron Canady's students wrote special encouraging cards and letters to recovering soldiers and their families. These messages of hope and appreciation were given to the troops, and their families, at a special dinner held at the Fisher House, a family lodging facility across from the Intrepid Rehabilitation Center at Ft. Sam Houston. When the students received news of this acknowledgement, they sent the troops a thank you card with the picture below displaying a message that read "We love our troops." |
