Redland Oaks choir receives Capitol Cement donation
|
Redland Oaks Elementary received a donation from Capitol Cement Company in the amount of $1,222.20. The donation will enable the school's choir to accept an invitation from the office of Senator Jeff Wentworth to sing in the Capitol Rotunda on May 20, 2008 in Austin. The students will also take a tour of the Capitol Building and grounds. When Max Frailey, vice president for Cement Operations, learned of the students' transportation needs, he presented the needs to the Capitol Cement Community Involvement Committee for their consideration. "This donation illustrates the significance of the partnership with the businesses in our community and the generous support of Capitol Cement, who obviously values the programs and activities in public education," said Dr. Mary Longloy, principal of Redland Oaks. "Our students are so excited about going to Austin to represent Redland Oaks and sing in their state's capitol. It is something they will always remember. Thank you again for your financial support, we are deeply grateful!" On behalf of the Redland Oaks choir, Dr. Mary Longloy and Amy Girardeau, choir director, wishes to thank Max Frailey, vice president, and Carla Esparza, chairwoman, the committee and Capitol Cement Company for their generosity. |
