Optimists recognize students for achievement


At its monthly Outstanding Student Recognition Program, the Windcrest Optimist Club gave special recognition to students from schools within the North East ISD Roosevelt High School cluster for their conduct, citizenship, scholastic success and optimistic attitude during the month of April. Following introductions and words of praise from their school teachers and principals, the students were presented special Optimist Club plaques for their achievements.

The following students were presented by President Walt: East Terrell Hills Elementary - Jorge Ramirez; Montgomery Elementary - Prynsell Jackson;  Windcrest Elementary - Miranda Brawner; Ed White Middle School - Raul Gomez-Prado; and Krueger Middle School - Ernesto Lopez.

Club Essay Contest Winners were also presented by Chairman Don. The top three contenders, all from Roosevelt, read their essays and were recognized as follows: first place - Sabrina Martinez; second place - Robin Provorse; and third place - Hyun Kim.
