NEISD students advance to state UIL competition

On Apr. 11-12, 2008, the North East high school UIL Academic teams excelled at the University of Texas in San Antonio as they competed in the regional contest. At the end of the competition students from five of the district’s high schools advanced to the UIL State Meet, which will take place at the University of Texas in Austin on May 2-3. Churchill high school placed second and MacArthur high school ended up third in overall sweepstakes points. This is the district’s best showing at the competition in years. Special recognition goes to the following students and teams for advancing to UIL State:
