NEISD middle schools compete in district UIL contest

All thirteen NEISD middle schools competed in a district UIL contest on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Garner Middle School. Lopez Middle School took first place in the small school cup division, while Tejeda Middle School claimed first place in the large school cup division. To determine the top four students in each grade level for each event to represent their school at the district meet, students competed in three UIL practice meets held earlier this school year in October, December and February. Sweepstake points were based on 14 UIL events divided into 37 categories. Final results: Small School "As an educator, it is exciting to work with a group of students who strive daily to improve themselves," Lopez Number Sense UIL Coach and UIL Coordinator Lisa Gonzales. |
