MacArthur JROTC wins Superintendent's Trophy


The MacArthur JROTC cadets won the district’s prestigious 2008 Superintendent's Trophy on Apr. 12 at Reagan High School

The Superintendent's Trophy competition consists of ten categories. The MacArthur cadets won seven of these contests including the Air Rifle Marksmanship Meet, and the male and female division of the Orienteering Meet. The Mighty Blue Angels Unarmed Drill Team captured first place in the District Drill competition, and both male and female Color Guard teams placed first. The female Physical Fitness team was also the top performer in the Fitness competition.

Churchill placed second, while claiming top honors in the annual In-Ranks Company Inspection.  Reagan placed third with the outstanding performance of the Rattler Guard Armed Drill Team who won first place in the District Armed Drill Team category. The male Physical Fitness team from Madison led the Maverick cadets to an overall fourth place finish.

The next stop for the North East JROTC cadets will be the National Drill Championships on May 2-4, 2008 in Daytona, Florida.
