North East ISD students recently participated in the St. Mary's University Fiesta Jazz Festival. The Churchill High School Jazz Band I was awarded first place in the high school division, and the Bradley Middle School Jazz Band I was awarded first place in the middle school division. Band directors Ed Geimer, Bradley; and Alan Sharps, Churchill, were both awarded Outstanding Music Educator plaques in their respective divisions. 

"The students all played very well and represented NEISD at a very high level," said Sharps. "Two bands from MacArthur under the direction of Rob Cameron both did an outstanding job."
