Madison design students chosen for runway

Three Madison High School students in the school's Fashion Design Program were recently in the Fiber Artist of San Antonio (FASA) Runway Show. The FASA committee chose only seven high school design students to have their very own designs featured in the show. This year's theme was Dancing Fibers. Chris Verette (senior) and Celia Alecozay (junior) were chosen as a design team for the Tango category. Valerie Abonce (sophomore) was chosen for the Hip Hop category and asked Raven Starks (junior) to be her model in the show.

"I am so proud of these students!" said Pam Foster, FCS Fashion Design I & II educator. "Their designs were wonderfully creative, and they worked endless hours constructing and perfecting their designs for the show."

FASA was founded in 1972, and its mission is to promote and advance fiber art through the education of members and the public; promote mutual understanding and cooperation in artistic endeavors among member organizations.
