Students and staff of the Automotive Technology Academy will host a dedication ceremony to remember David Dye on April 2, 2008 beginning at 10 a.m. at the campus. The event will celebrate the life of Dye and his labcoat will be "retired." His wife, Patricia Dye, and his mother, Clara Jane Dye, will attend and also explain the David B. Dye Memorial Scholarship Fund that was setup after his death.
This event is also a tribute to Dye from his students who expressed an interest in attending his memorial service, but were unable to. The students will also dedicate their state competition to him on April 5 in Corpus Christi.
