L. Howard III Our principal for eight years, our leader, and our friend, Walter Howard III passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2001, following a long battle with cancer. We are grateful for the time he spent with us, and his courage is an inspiration to all who knew him. The MacArthur family honored Mr. Howard with a memorial service Saturday, February 24, at 7:00 p.m. in Littleton Gym of Blossom Athletic Center. To commemorate the valiant effort he made to see them completed, the A & B Wings of the new MacArthur building were dedicated to Walter Howard on September 28, 2001. See photos below. Each
September since 2001, MacArthur has held the Walter Howard Walk-a-Thon for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society,
most recently on September 6, 2003. |
