BILINGUAL CLERK

JACKSON-KELLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience
  • Valid Texas Drivers License with a driving record that meets the requirements of the District
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the compilation of all bilingual/ESL compliance data (testing, scoring, copies of previous school records, language surveys, and etc.) in order for the campus Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) to make program placement and recommendations
  • Administers and scores IPT to determine if student meets criteria for entrance to and exit from the Bilingual/English as Second Language (ESL) Program
  • Types LPAC forms, prepares LPAC folders for new students, distributes permission letters and follows up for signature, covers class for classroom teacher during LPAC's
  • Schedules appointments
  • Assists in arranging and informing parents and teachers regarding bus transportation for all LEP students
  • Translates for Spanish speaking parents and students
  • Translates school documents for Principal, Vice Principal, Counselors, Teachers, and other school personnel
  • Assists with entering information into mainframe computer for LEP students
  • Maintains inventory of IPT test booklets, LPAC forms and LPAC folders
  • Lunch Duty
  • Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

HOURLY:
$10.33-$12.60 PAY GRADE: C2 WORK DAYS: 180
