SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
COMMUNITY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA a plus
- Four to five years experience in accounting, budgeting and/or auditing
- Accounts Receivable experience a plus
- Previous experience in financial and statistical analysis
- Certified Public Accountant a plus
- Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

| MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Budget and accounting manager for the Community Education/KIN Programs
- Responsible for the development, management and coordination of Community Education and KIN program budget through out the fiscal year
- Assists with the preparation of grant budget schedules
- Monitors the grant budgets to ensure that all expenditures are recorded properly and allowable under local, state and federal guidelines
- Manage the Accounts Receivable function of the Community Education/KIN programs including establishing the system, recording and reconciling activity to the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Responsible for the establishing and maintaining a procedures manual for the processing, recording, reconciling and reporting of the Accounts Receivable function
- Ensures that all Account Receivable collection efforts are made, billings are done on a timely manner, invoices are mailed and past due accounts are reviewed with the Director of Community Education for appropriate action
- Manager of the general ledger for the Community Education/KIN programs; ensuring that the transaction are properly recorded according to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for processing
- Ensures that all payroll documentation is maintained and submitted by the appropriate personnel, timely, and properly coded for processing
- Prepares financial report or analytical reports as requested
- Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned
