LICENSED SPECIALIST IN SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY (LSSP)
SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in Education Psychology
Doctoral Degree in School Psychology a plus
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
Licensed Psychologist a plus
Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises and monitors student ability, achievement and emotional/behavioral status
Ensures that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis and that findings are used in making decisions to improve program effectiveness as it relates to specific student needs
Addresses student achievement deficiencies by focusing resources and efforts to promote satisfactory classroom performance
Facilitates home school cooperation to enhance academic achievement
Diagnoses and addresses student needs
Functions as a liaison between the school and the family in student assessment and interpretation of test results
Assists in ensuring that the special education curriculum is responsible to student needs
Counsels individually and in group format with special education qualified students
Addresses the educational needs of at risk students
Coordinates liaison and transition processes for Child Find ( Three - Five Years Old )
Directs resources and efforts to address the most pressing student needs
Participates as team/group member in such programs as suicide prevention, crisis management, social learning, mediation and outdoor education
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: $54,888-$67,348 PAY GRADE: A4 WORK SCHEDULE: Eleven Months
