DATA BASE ADMINISTRATOR/DEVELOPER
DATA PROCESSING DEPARTMENT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two (2) plus years DBA experience a plus
  • MCDABA Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides technical database consulting on complex projects and issues
  • Analyzes database requirements and participates in database design
  • Installs and configures MS SQL Sever in clustered environment and Oracle RDBMS in Windows environment
  • Overall monitoring of standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design
  • Performs duties pertaining to the design, implementation and execution of business resumption/disaster recovery plans for databases
  • Designs and implements database backup and integrates vendor-supplied database utilities and database administration tools
  • Test and debug database related components of database management system software
  • Maintains and coordinates multiple integrated DBMS test and production operational environments
  • Provide technical database consulting on complex projects and issues including data architecture, evaluation and acquisition of database management systems and database management tools
  • Analyze database requirements of the user department, applications programming and operations
  • Participate in database design with users and application developers to develop specifications
  • Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
SALARY: $68,153-$81,622 PAY GRADE: T7 WORK SCHEDULE: Twelve Months
