CONVERGENCE ENGINEER
COMPUTER SERVICE CENTER

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Five years experience in Telephony security, reliability and functionality
Five years experience in Voice and Data Technologies
Nortel Certification with VOIP Systems and Peripherals a plus
Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs, builds and implements a District-wide VOIP system. Including Call Center, telephony solutions and interfaces, voice and data communications, call management, voice mail, Interactive Voice and Convergence Solution
Plans and directs work to assigned staff, assigns work activities and projects
Reviews and evaluates work projects, methods and procedures
Develops and implements goals, objectives and priorities for assigned projects
Monitors telecommunications operations to identify performance and capacity issues; measure volume and performance of telecommunications traffic; identifies utilization and performance issues; develops plan and implements new technologies and services to satisfy capacity and performance requirements
Programs and implements software changes in all the above listed systems, coordinate hardware and software request with vendors; monitors vendor orders
Performs Convergence Engineer functions, adds application , users and devices
Performs technical writing duties in the development and production of system documentation, instructional and procedural manuals
Troubleshoots and resolves operational and VOIP and telephony equipment and software problems
Directs and coordinates new installations, system moves and service upgrade projects
Researches, analyzes and evaluates new service delivery methods and techniques
Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: $54,335-$65,080 PAY GRADE: T5 WORK SCHEDULE: Twelve Months
