ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: |
- Master's Degree
- Three to five years experience and/or related experience as a Career Technology Education Teacher
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification by the State Board
- Valid Principal, Assistant Principal or Mid-Management Certification by the State Board
- Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District

| MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Assists Director in the coordinating of all aspects of the Agriscience Technology Education, Technology Education and Trades and Industry Education programs
- Assists Director in the preparation of Career and Technology Education Bi-Annual In-service
- Responsible for organizing and implementing the Annual District Career Night Activity
- Plans and implements specific staff development sessions for new Career and Technology teachers and provides valuable classroom management materials as well as other pertinent District information
- Prepares enrollment analysis report to reflect teacher/student load per campus
- Evaluates Work Based Training Plans and Audits Work Based Training sites
- Promotes and maintains an active Career and Technology Education Advisory Council
- Organizes the Advisory Council Scholarship Team and provides direction in the evaluation process of selected program areas to be evaluated
- Serves as District Liaison to the Alamo Community College District to establish Dual Credit Programs and Articulation Agreements for Career and Technology Education
- Consults on instructional strategies, teaching aides, equipment and modification to facilitate student achievement
- Demonstrates and awareness of school/community needs initiates action to address those needs
- Supports youth organizations and student activities to provide opportunities for students to develop leadership skills
- Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned
