Algebra I TEKS/NEISD Standards

Algebra I TEKS/NEISD Standards

The NEISD G/T Algebra I Curiculum Guide consists of a timeline, student activities, and assessments. TEKS and TAKS objectives drive this curriculum, as well as vertical considerations connecting Algebra I experiences to success in Algebra II. Additionally, the sequence and activities reflect the teaching of "big ideas" first, followed by teaching the skills associated with these ideas or concepts. Active participation, student collaboration, and classroom discussion play essential roles.
This guideline, a product of NEISD G/T Algebra I teachers, is intended to be a tool for teachers as a resource and a model for improving student achievement in Algebra I. Implementation of this guide is like that of any other resource or textbook - each teacher will personalize it in his or her own way.
The curriculum guide is outlined by six six-week periods and includes reviews, quizzes, and tests. Each six-week plan covers approximately 30 of the 45-minute periods at the middle school level. You may select the appropriate links below and access a printable copy of each six-week plan.
