Camelot Elementary School kicked off its second season of Green Patrol on Monday, October 29, 2007 during school dismissal. Green Patrol encourages parents to avoid unnecessary idling by turning off their vehicles when arriving to the school to pick up students, prior to dismissal. Green Patrol students wear green jerseys and hold No Idle Zone / Be a Star Turn Off Your Car signs to help remind parents to turn off their engines. This program supports district's asthma awareness initiative. Engine idling creates air pollution, which can be a trigger for asthma.
