Walzem Elementary School students welcomed Curious George and a storyteller on November 15 to help celebrate literacy during Children's Book Week. The students were also given a free book of their choice through a grant from Reading is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF). Walzem has launched a new RIF program that will provide free books and literacy resources to students. Children involved in the Walzem RIF program will have the opportunity to choose three new books to add to or create personal libraries. Two additional distributions are scheduled for January and February of next year.
